Aims & Objectives

of the

Inner East Youth Project

Aims:

Develop a strategic response to the needs of young people
Enhance the capacity of young people to participate in the development of a strategic response

Objectives:

Develop youth structures and support systems through which young people can advocate on their own behalf
Facilitate the creation of appropriate groupings of young people to develop capacity building programs
Support existing groups to develop and articulate their needs (both providers and young people)
Develop and implement strategies for local youth work training
Develop inter-agency and community partnerships for the benefit of young people
To facilitate cross-community, contact and networking between young people in and around the interface area of inner East Belfast and individuals and organisations which are involved in interface issues throughout the city

With a commitment from all at the Inner East Youth Project, in achieving the project aims, within the related or specific objectives we must emphasis that the commitment relates specifically to young people in the inner East Belfast area.  Therefore we must ensure that our work is targeted in this area, to assist this process we will be working towards "Partnership Agreements" with all agencies whom we work with.
